As the face behind SMERC, Darren O'Day brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the realm of sports recovery. With a career spanning various disciplines, Darren has consistently pursued excellence in empowering athletes to perform at their best.

Darren's journey began with a Bachelor's Degree in Sport & Exercise Science at the University of Limerick, where he cultivated a deep understanding of human performance and the science of movement.
​
As a passionate advocate for player development, Darren pursued a career in sports performance , immersing himself in coaching and honing his skills to nurture young football talents at the O'Day Football Academy. His dynamic approach revolves around tailoring coaching curriculums and conducting one-on-one and group strength and conditioning sessions.

Recognising the vital importance of recovery in athletic performance, he ventured into the world of Neuromuscular Therapy at the National Training Centre in Dublin.
As a Neuromuscular Therapist, Darren possesses a unique set of qualifications that set him apart in the realm of sports recovery. Darren is adept at addressing specific muscle and soft tissue issues, providing athletes with targeted pain relief, improved range of motion, reduced stress, enhanced posture, and expedited injury recovery.
